Regional IT Specialist
Role Overview
The Regional IT Specialist plays a hands-on, delivery-focused role supporting IT operations, infrastructure, and digital initiatives across CIP country offices in Africa and Asia. The position emphasizes standardization, security, and reliability of IT services while providing direct technical support to research programs and regional offices operating across multiple geographies and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Support rollout and implementation of regional IT initiatives across country offices
- Provide end-to-end technical support to research and operational projects
- Enforce standardization of IT hardware, software, and infrastructure
- Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement and secure disposal
- Ensure endpoint security, patching, backups, and compliance with information security controls
- Support LAN, internet connectivity, telecommunications, and IT procurement needs
- Monitor vendor and service provider performance and escalate service gaps
- Deliver first-level and selected second-level support via the ticketing system
- Conduct IT training and user onboarding sessions
- Lead IT infrastructure setup for new or expanding offices
- Recommend emerging technologies to improve efficiency and service delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, MIS, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support or infrastructure management
- Strong knowledge of Windows endpoint management, Azure, networking, and IT security
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Intune, and SharePoint
- Experience supporting application development and IT projects
- ITIL, project management, or information security certification is an advantage
- Strong English communication skills; French is an asset
