Regional Director – CARE Kenya

CARE is recruiting an exceptional Regional Director to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across its East and Southern Africa programs.

Role Overview

The Regional Director will oversee country strategies, humanitarian operations, and partnerships, ensuring CARE’s mission and programs deliver sustainable impact throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of regional strategies and impact frameworks.
• Support country directors and program managers in achieving strategic goals.
• Drive operational excellence and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Strengthen partnerships with governments, donors, and private sector actors.
• Oversee humanitarian response planning and crisis coordination.
• Build high-performing teams and promote inclusive leadership.
• Represent CARE in regional forums and advocacy platforms.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s degree in Development Studies, International Relations, or Management.
• Minimum 10 years’ leadership experience in development or humanitarian organizations.
• Proven expertise in strategy, advocacy, and resource mobilization.
• Strong knowledge of East and Southern Africa’s political and humanitarian contexts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and people management skills.
