Key Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting and review of contracts spanning intellectual property, employment, and data privacy.
- Drive the investment process by conducting due diligence and managing deal documentation for equity and debt.
- Own the compliance calendar, ensuring timely governmental filings and registrations in Kenya and Canada.
- Facilitate risk management by providing pragmatic legal advice to program teams during pre- and post-investment stages.
- Resolve procedural deviations by developing standardized templates, tools, and resource libraries.
- Maintain a cool head in high-pressure situations, managing multiple workstreams with resilience and diplomacy.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience practicing transactional law; venture capital experience is a plus.
- Permanent authorization to work in Kenya with a valid license to practice law.
- Familiarity with investment vehicles, financial instruments, and regulatory filings.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones and multicultural stakeholders.
