Key Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting and review of contracts spanning intellectual property, employment, and data privacy.
• Drive the investment process by conducting due diligence and managing deal documentation for equity and debt.
• Own the compliance calendar, ensuring timely governmental filings and registrations in Kenya and Canada.
• Facilitate risk management by providing pragmatic legal advice to program teams during pre- and post-investment stages.
• Resolve procedural deviations by developing standardized templates, tools, and resource libraries.
• Maintain a cool head in high-pressure situations, managing multiple workstreams with resilience and diplomacy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience practicing transactional law; venture capital experience is a plus.
• Permanent authorization to work in Kenya with a valid license to practice law.
• Familiarity with investment vehicles, financial instruments, and regulatory filings.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones and multicultural stakeholders.
