Procurement & Inventory Intern

Role Overview

The Ngong Road Children’s Foundation requires a Procurement and Inventory Intern to support our Nairobi operations. This is a factual, entry-level position intended for a recent graduate looking to apply their supply chain knowledge within a non-profit organization. The role focuses on the administration of purchasing processes, the maintenance of accurate stock records, and the support of vendor negotiations. You will work under the direct supervision of the procurement lead to ensure that all organizational resources are tracked and managed according to our established internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily management of inventory records to ensure stock levels are accurately documented.
  • Support the procurement team in soliciting and evaluating quotes from various suppliers.
  • Maintain a digital database of all procurement transactions and vendor contact information.
  • Assist in the physical verification of goods received against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Support the coordination of logistics for the distribution of materials to foundation projects.
  • Document and file all supply chain paperwork to ensure audit readiness and transparency.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of procurement principles and inventory control systems.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and spreadsheets for data management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective vendor interaction.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to learning the operations of a mission-driven organization.
