Power BI Developer
Role Overview
The Power BI Developer designs, develops, and maintains business intelligence dashboards and reports that transform financial and operational data into actionable insights. The role supports data-driven decision-making across the organization while ensuring data accuracy, governance, performance optimization, and secure access.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
- Build data models, relationships, and calculations using Power BI Desktop, DAX, and Power Query
- Integrate data from SQL databases, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and other sources
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities
- Optimize report performance, responsiveness, and usability
- Analyze trends and patterns to support strategic and operational decisions
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and IT teams to gather requirements
- Provide end-user support and guidance to improve Power BI adoption
- Maintain documentation for data sources, models, calculations, and report logic
- Apply data governance, security, and privacy best practices
- Manage multiple reporting initiatives simultaneously
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Power BI or business intelligence roles
- Strong experience with Power BI Desktop, Service, and Power Query
- Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power Query M language
- Solid SQL and relational database experience
- Strong understanding of data visualization and dashboard design principles
- Exposure to data warehousing and ETL processes is an added advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
