Platform Engineering Lead

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, development, and administration of ALU’s Salesforce-led platform across institutional domains.
• Design and govern integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems including AWS, Oracle NetSuite, BambooHR, and other platforms.
• Define and document data models, API standards, integration patterns, and architectural decision records.
• Serve as an active technical contributor through Salesforce development (Apex, LWC, integrations) and configuration.
• Oversee Salesforce administration including security models, roles, permissions, and environment management.
• Design scalable integration architectures using APIs, event-driven patterns, and microservices.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards covering async processing, resilience, naming conventions, and data ownership.
• Define and own Git strategy, CI/CD pipelines, and release management practices across environments.
• Act as technical authority across internal teams and vendors, reviewing designs and enforcing architectural discipline.
• Promote responsible use of AI tools to enhance development efficiency, documentation, and code quality.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 9+ years’ experience in Salesforce platform engineering, enterprise architecture, or technical leadership.
• Deep hands-on Salesforce development and administration expertise.
• Experience operating at Lead Architect, Technical Architect, or Principal Engineer level.
• Strong integration experience with ERP, HR, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience in API design, CI/CD, Git version control, and cloud infrastructure management.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce data models, security architecture, and performance constraints.
• Proven experience managing vendors and enforcing technical governance.
