Role Overview
The Pharmaceutical Technologist will operate in a busy pharmacy environment, serving as the frontline professional for dispensing and patient advisory services in the Coastal Region. Key duties involve ensuring compliance with all PPB regulations, accurately dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications, maintaining strict inventory control, providing patient education on medication usage, and applying knowledge of specialized products like Cosmetics and Nutraceuticals (an advantage).
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensing & Patient Care: Dispense medication accurately and safely according to prescriptions and best practices; provide patient education on medication usage and adherence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full enrollment and compliance with all guidelines and regulations set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
- Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory and stock of pharmaceuticals, ensuring proper storage, expiry date tracking, and timely replenishment.
- Product Knowledge: Utilize knowledge in Cosmetics and Nutraceuticals (if applicable) to provide informed advice and drive sales of these specialized products.
- Customer Service: Provide professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic service to all pharmacy clients.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum two years experience in a busy pharmacy setting.
- Education: Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Registration: Must be enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
