Penda Health is recruiting a Pharmaceutical Technologist to join their clinical team in Nairobi. You will be a vital part of the primary care delivery system, ensuring that patients receive high-quality pharmacy services and an outstanding overall experience. This role requires a professional who is committed to patient dignity and the rational use of medications.
Role Overview
You will manage the full pharmacy cycle, from processing prescriptions to maintaining drug stocks. You will work closely with Clinical Officers to ensure medication safety and adhere to strict regulatory protocols for dangerous drugs.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and dispense prescriptions while ensuring patient education on usage.
- Monitor storage conditions, including fridge and room temperatures.
- Implement DDA (Dangerous Drugs Act) protocols for regulated medications.
- Conduct monthly stock takes and manage supplies from the central store.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure economical and rational drug use.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology.
- Valid registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya and a current practicing license.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a busy hospital or clinic setting.
- Proficiency in computer applications and hospital management systems.
