Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advisory support in the development of comprehensive donor-aligned project documents.
  • Participate in stakeholder and donor engagements during project design and refinement.
  • Provide technical guidance on value chain development in manufacturing and agribusiness sectors.
  • Support identification and establishment of private sector value chain linkages.
  • Advise on incubation services, accelerator programs, and investment de-risking mechanisms.
  • Engage stakeholders to gather insights on Afghanistan’s private sector ecosystem.
  • Facilitate coordination between UNOPS, donors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support stakeholder consultations to refine project implementation strategies.
  • Provide strategic guidance on private sector advisory and advocacy initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field with 7 years’ experience; OR Bachelor’s degree with 9 years’ relevant experience.
  • Minimum 7 years’ progressively responsible experience in private sector development or economic policy.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in fragile or conflict-affected contexts.
  • Strong experience in stakeholder engagement with government, donors, and private sector actors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in value chain analysis and development.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic planning, and partnership-building skills.
