Officer, Regional Payments & Administration (Business Analyst 1)
Role Overview
This position supports regional financial integration by contributing to cross-border payment system harmonization initiatives within the East African Community and COMESA regions. The role blends policy support, technical coordination, and regional engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Payments Integration
- Support implementation of EAC and COMESA payment system initiatives
- Participate in upgrades of EAPS and REPSS platforms
- Contribute to development of regional cross-border retail payment systems
Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor performance of regional payment systems
- Prepare performance reports for regional oversight bodies
- Draft briefs, memos, and reports on regional payment matters
Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
- Support coordination with development partners such as AfDB, World Bank, and IMF
- Participate in implementation of Monetary Affairs Committee directives
- Support staff training initiatives within the division
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business, Law, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- Professional certifications are an added advantage
- At least 2 years’ experience in payments, banking operations, financial services, or policy-related roles
