Role Summary
The ICT Authority, a strategic State Corporation under the Ministry of ICT, is offering an exceptional internship opportunity for high-achieving graduates. This Networks Internship in Kenya focuses on building and maintaining the backbone of government digital services. Interns will gain hands-on experience with national-scale network infrastructure, playing a vital role in supporting the Kenyan government’s digital transformation agenda and ensuring seamless connectivity across ministries and counties.
Key Responsibilities
Support the management, optimization, and troubleshooting of government network infrastructure and digital systems.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of robust digital infrastructure projects across various ministries, departments, and agencies (MCDAs).
Apply theoretical knowledge in networking principles to real-world scenarios, ensuring reliable and secure government ICT operations.
Collaborate with teams specializing in information security, software development, and data analytics on integrated projects.
Work on a full-time basis, deployed to a government organization within any of Kenya’s 47 counties, contributing to critical national ICT functions.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Must be an unemployed Kenyan youth between 21 and 29 years of age.
MUST have graduated with a First Class or Upper Second-Class Honors degree in BSc. ICT, Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Systems/Software, Security), or a related field from a recognized institution since January 2023.
Applicants awaiting graduation (until December 2025) must provide a stamped and signed university letter confirming the impending award of a First or Upper Second-Class degree.
Must possess thorough knowledge and demonstrable technical competencies in Networks & Digital Infrastructure.
Must NOT have participated in any previous government internship program.
Must be willing and ready for full-time deployment (8:00 am – 5:00 pm) to any government organization within any of the 47 counties.
