Role Overview

The Mechanical Specialist will ensure smooth plant operations through advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands strong technical expertise, teamwork, and the ability to innovate in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical systems including Gear & Power Transmission Systems, Drives, Motors, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Conveyor Systems.

  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems and perform basic electrical circuit analysis and repairs.

  • Apply knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and assist in root cause analysis using Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Implement and continuously improve Preventive & Autonomous Maintenance systems.

  • Supervise contractors and suppliers to maintain safety and food quality standards.

  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to enhance system efficiency.

  • Train and mentor peers in mechanical maintenance and reliability practices.

  • Maintain spare parts strategy and ensure minimal unscheduled breakdowns.

  • Support condition-based maintenance (CBM) and reliability programs.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.

  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.

  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).

  • Flexible to work day and night shifts as required.
