Marketing and Communications Manager — Marriott (Nairobi)

Marriott is seeking a highly creative and strategic Marketing and Communications Manager in Nairobi. This demanding luxury hospitality job in Kenya requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related major and 2 years’ work experience in a fast-paced, similar role. The Manager will be responsible for formulating and driving the property’s marketing plan, curating high-impact entertainment and promotional strategies across all revenue centers (rooms, F&B, spa), and managing the marketing budget while ensuring every outlet maintains a unique identity aligned with the Marriott brand.

Role Overview

The Marketing and Communications Manager is a hands-on strategic leader responsible for the full-cycle marketing function. Key duties include developing the comprehensive leisure marketing plan, managing all digital content (web sites, email campaigns), proactively developing collateral materials (brochures, property imaging), tracking and analyzing the Return on Investment (ROI) of all marketing initiatives, and ensuring consistent brand voice across all guest touchpoints, including corporate loyalty reward mailings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy & Planning: Formulate and drive the property’s overall marketing plan; develop a comprehensive leisure marketing plan (rate offers, packages) to build occupancy.
  • Digital & Content Management: Maintain, update, and manage all property web sites; review and analyze all website and email campaign tracking; ensure consistent marketing message in all advertising.
  • Promotions & Experience: Curate and execute high-impact entertainment, marketing, and promotional strategies across all revenue centers (rooms, Food & Beverage, spa).
  • Budget & ROI: Manage the marketing budget throughout the year; provide regular tracking/analysis and calculate the Return on Investment (ROI) of all marketing initiatives (online, direct mail, print).
  • Brand Execution: Ensure consistency in the individual property’s voice on all guest touchpoints and marketing communications, adhering to corporate graphic standards.
  • Relationship Building: Act as liaison between the corporate office and the hotel; work with media buyers; identify and communicate with distribution channels to sell distress inventory.
  • Market Insights: Source and evaluate new marketing opportunities; utilize and interpret reporting (DMA source market reports) for sound recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 2 years’ work experience in a similar role and fast-paced environment required. Proven track record excelling in delivering on marketing strategy.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
  • Skills: Highly creative, operationally strong, and deeply engaged in market trends; strong analytical skills for interpreting website and campaign tracking data.
