Laboratory Technologists
Role Overview
The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for conducting diagnostic tests and analyses on clinical specimens to support accurate detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. The role operates within established laboratory protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure reliable results and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory tests on clinical specimens
- Ensure adherence to laboratory protocols, quality control, and safety standards
- Accurately document test results and maintain laboratory records
- Participate in Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS) initiatives
- Support clinicians with timely and accurate diagnostic information
- Utilize Health Management Information Systems for data entry and reporting
Qualifications
- Degree in Laboratory Sciences or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
- At least one (1) year internship working experience
- Registered with a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board
- Training and demonstrated understanding of Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Proficiency in computer applications, especially Health Management Information Systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
