Job Description
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Information Security Analyst specializing in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to join its team in Nairobi (iHub). This critical NGO cybersecurity job in Kenya requires 2–3 years of experience in operations in a global organization, with at least 1 year managing user accounts. The Analyst will be responsible for executing comprehensive IAM procedures for authentication, authorization, and access provisioning, monitoring for security incidents, and providing IAM advisory to internal stakeholders across the global organization.

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) function, based in Nairobi’s iHub, is key to controlling and securing user access across IRC’s vast global network.
Role Overview
The Information Security Analyst will focus on maintaining the user identity lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and account updates. Key responsibilities involve performing regular audits to detect anomalies, mitigating access risks, responding to audit findings, and providing consulting services on IAM best practices to internal departments. The Analyst must also participate in sector discussions and liaise with the global Safety and Security Team.
Major Responsibilities
- IAM Execution: Execute comprehensive Identity and Access Management (IAM) procedures for secure authentication, authorization, and access provisioning across the global organization.
- User Lifecycle Management: Assist in managing the complete user identity lifecycle, including timely and accurate onboarding, offboarding, and account updates.
- Incident Response: Monitor for and investigate incidents related to identities/workloads, and recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Compliance & Auditing: Regularly audit and monitor access rights to detect anomalies, mitigate risks, and participate in ongoing auditing and risk assessments; implement remediation measures in response to internal/external audit findings.
- Advisory & Training: Provide expert Identity and Access Management advisory and consulting to internal stakeholders and develop and maintain training materials related to IAM processes.
- Key Relationships: Work closely with IT staff across regions, the global Safety and Security Team, and the IRC privacy office.
Job Requirements
- Experience: 2–3 years’ experience in operations in a global organization, with at least 1 year managing user accounts.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in an information systems-related field is preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of IAM architecture and user identity lifecycle best practices.
- Collaboration: Excellent relationship management skills for coordinating with multi-level internal and external stakeholders.
