Flexi-Personnel is seeking a strategic Head of Marketing, Research & Corporate Communications (HOD) for its client, a bank in Nairobi. This executive banking marketing leadership job in Kenya requires a University degree in Sales & Marketing/Business Administration, relevant professional certification (CIM or MSK), and a minimum of 6 years’ working experience in marketing (3 years at management level). The HOD will develop and execute the comprehensive Marketing, Research, and Communications strategy to achieve the Bank’s objectives for brand visibility, product adoption, and digital transformation, specifically for alternative banking channels.

Role Overview
The HOD Marketing provides strategic direction and operational execution across the bank’s brand identity and communication channels. Key duties include developing and executing the digital marketing strategy and business plan, transforming marketing processes, designing all bank artwork and merchandise, overseeing internal/external communications (e-newsletter, press releases, social media), developing the CSR policy, and leading performance management for the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the bank’s comprehensive Marketing, Research, and Corporate Communications strategy, aligning it with the digital strategy and overall business plan (CMFB).
- Branding & Visuals: Develop and execute the bank’s branding strategy, ensuring clear and visible standard brand application, signage, and merchandise across the network; design and update all bank artwork.
- Digital Transformation: Develop and execute the bank’s social media and website strategy; develop and optimize online marketing initiatives to drive customer acquisition and improve website usability/conversion.
- Commercial Strategy: Develop a commercial strategy and tactical plan to market alternative banking channels (mobile, digital) and position them to generate new customer numbers, deposits, and loans.
- Communications: Develop and implement internal and external communications strategies (e-newsletter, Press Releases, customer email bursts, bulk SMS content).
- CSR & Events: Develop the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy and oversee its implementation; develop and implement an events Management strategy (Press conferences, product/branch launches).
- Leadership & Budget: Provide leadership in performance management, employee development, and talent management; develop and manage the operating budget for the department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 6 years’ working experience in marketing, preferably in Banking/Financial sector, 3 of which should be at management level. At least 5 years’ experience in the leadership of development/implementation of sales/Marketing strategies.
- Education: University degree in BCOM – Sales & Marketing, Business Administration.
- Professional Qualification: Relevant professional qualification – Chartered Institute of Marketing or Marketing Society of Kenya.
- Technical Skills: Previous experience in business-driven and strategic use of social media, e-business/e-commerce, mobile applications, big data, and digital technologies.
- Competencies: Strong business sense with a proven track record of developing, implementing, and marketing business systems.
