Role Overview 🎯

The Resident Teacher will be accountable for students’ mastery of English and Literature content and academic standards. Key duties include creating a stimulating and organized classroom environment, integrating interactive technology into instructional delivery, setting ambitious goals for students, and serving vital roles in boarding life and school-wide co-curricular programs within this leading Nairobi career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities 🔑

  • Teach and deliver exceptional, enquiry-based English/Literature lessons aligned with the Kenya curriculum requirements.
  • Develop, review, and update lesson plans in partnership with the Learning Design Team.
  • Create a positive, organized, and focused classroom environment conducive to learning and student growth.
  • Infuse joy and passion for learning to ensure students are excited and engaged in their academic excellence.
  • Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for the success of all students in both academic and cultural expectations.
  • Integrate interactive technology into lessons to enhance instructional delivery and student outcomes.
  • Serve as a teacher on duty and/or boarding teacher on duty, actively supporting school-wide programs and behavior interventions.
  • Timely capture and articulation of student data on academic outcomes to families and key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience 🎓

  • Education: A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Education in the teaching subjects of English and Literature.
  • Certification: Must hold current TSC certification (Teachers Service Commission).
  • Experience: Strictly requires a minimum of 3+ years of teaching experience.
  • Skills: Proven ability to provide clear and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Attributes: Must be flexible, open to change, a proactive problem-solver, and align with the organizational culture of feedback.
