Garden Assistant III (30 Posts) — Kenya Defence Forces (Nairobi)
Military installations and state lodges require pristine landscaping to maintain their standard of excellence, but current groundskeeping needs demand a larger, more dedicated team. We are opening thirty slots for Garden Assistants to solve the challenge of maintaining these extensive green spaces across various units.
Role Overview
You will join a training-grade cadre focused on the professional upkeep of lawns, flowerbeds, and ornamental gardens. The goal is to ensure that every facility, from regional units to State House grounds, remains aesthetically pleasing and environmentally well-managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the health and appearance of lawns and flowerbeds through regular mowing and weeding.
- Execute landscaping tasks as directed by the unit supervisors at State Lodges or KDF units.
- Operate basic gardening tools and machinery to ensure efficient grounds maintenance.
- Support the broader environmental conservation efforts of the Ministry.
Qualifications
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of D+ (Plus).
- A demonstrated interest in horticulture or landscaping.
- Willingness to undergo on-the-job training in a disciplined service environment.
