The National Basketball Association (NBA) Africa is seeking a talented Future Pro Graphic Designer to join the team, focusing on the visual identity of NBA Africa and the Basketball Africa League (BAL), based in Nairobi. This specialized sports creative job in Kenya requires 2–3 years of experience in graphic and motion design, with proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and an understanding of motion design principles. The Designer will create dynamic graphics and motion assets for digital, social media, merchandise, and in-arena branding, ensuring consistency across multi-platform campaigns.

Role Overview

The Future Pro Graphic Designer will be a key contributor to the creative development and brand execution for one of the world’s biggest sports entities in Africa. Responsibilities include creating high-quality graphics and short-form motion assets, adapting global brand templates for local contexts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Digital, Social, Events) on campaign rollouts. A strong portfolio showcasing both static and motion work is required.


Major Responsibilities

  • Creative Development & Design: Create high-quality graphics and motion assets for diverse applications: digital, social media, print, merchandise, reports, and corporate events.
  • Brand Execution: Adapt global NBA brand templates to local contexts while rigorously maintaining brand consistency and upholding BAL/NBAA visual standards.
  • Motion Graphics & Animation: Produce short-form motion graphics, transitions, and animated templates to enhance storytelling and elevate the visual identity across social and digital platforms.
  • Campaign Support: Collaborate closely with the Brand Marketing and Advertising team on creative concepts and campaign rollouts, ensuring design alignment with strategy agencies.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with Digital, Social, Events, and Fan Experience teams to design visuals supporting influencer activations, marketing partnerships, and grassroots programs.
  • Reporting & Archiving: Maintain a structured design library and archive of all creative assets, tracking creative timelines and reporting output regularly.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize advanced skills in the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and Canva.

Experience Needed

  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in graphic and motion design, preferably within the sports, entertainment, or creative industries.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and Canva.
  • Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of motion design principles, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  • Language: Business-level fluency in English and French is required (Arabic is a plus).
  • Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing both static and motion work is mandatory.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of the basketball landscape in Africa is an advantage.
