Urgent Action Fund–Africa (UAF-Africa) seeks a Feminist Knowledge Leadership Coordinator to advance research, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that amplify women’s rights and social justice movements across Africa.
About Urgent Action Fund–Africa
UAF-Africa is a feminist, Pan-African rapid response fund that supports Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) and feminist organizations. The fund’s mission is to sustain grassroots activism and transformative justice through strategic grants and knowledge production.
Role Overview
The Coordinator will lead the development, organization, and dissemination of feminist knowledge products, ensuring collaborative engagement and intellectual coherence across programs and regional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage knowledge leadership portfolios and related staff or consultants.
- Oversee research planning, documentation, and publication of feminist content.
- Coordinate transnational learning and collaboration among partners.
- Track and analyze emerging trends across feminist movements in Africa.
- Support cross-program learning within UAF-Africa teams.
- Lead the development of knowledge tools, reports, and multimedia dissemination strategies.
- Oversee the Feminist Republik platform and annual festival.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Women’s Studies, Political Science, Law, or related field.
- 7–9 years’ experience in feminist research, documentation, or advocacy.
- Strong knowledge of African women’s rights issues and movement building.
- Proven leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural coordination abilities.
