Job Description
The County Government of Kisumu is hiring 100 ECDE Teachers on a Permanent and Pensionable basis. You will be responsible for the holistic development of children aged 3-6 years, using play-based learning and creative arts to foster cognitive and social growth.
Role Overview
The ECDE teacher develops schemes of work and implements lessons that promote the physical and emotional well-being of young learners. You will manage classroom behavior, conduct assessments, and maintain close communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement play-based and creative learning activities for children aged 3-6.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and schemes of work.
- Ensure a safe, stimulating environment and report any signs of developmental issues or neglect.
- Organize parent-teacher meetings and engage with the local community to promote education.
- Prepare regular reports on child development and challenges for management and parents.
Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education; KCSE mean grade D (Plain) minimum.
- Basic training in Competence Based Curriculum (CBC).
- Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Proficiency in computer applications.
