Job Description
World Vision Kenya is seeking a professional Driver to ensure the safe, timely, and economical facilitation of program staff and fleet operations in Nairobi. This critical NGO support job in Kenya requires five years of experience driving various classes of vehicles, a clean driving license, and an Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) competence certification. The Driver will be responsible for staff facilitation, meticulous vehicle care and maintenance, precise documentation, and ensuring the safety of all passengers and vehicles according to World Vision Kenya’s high professional ethics and Christian ethos.

Role Overview
The Driver’s primary objective is the safe and timely facilitation of staff, visitors, and donors to and from official duties and field locations. Key responsibilities include maintaining the mechanical soundness and cleanliness of the vehicle, accurately logging all trips, adhering strictly to traffic laws and WVK policies, and providing essential administrative support like bank errands and mail delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Facilitation: Ensure the timely and safe facilitation of staff, visitors, and donors to and from work, official duties, and field locations, including mobilizing additional vehicles for major events.
- Vehicle Care & Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle is clean at all times; perform daily checks for mechanical and operational soundness; undertake minor repairs and recommend major repairs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Meticulously keep the vehicle movement log book up to date; prepare and file monthly and other required vehicle reports; submit all invoices and fuel returns promptly.
- Safety & Compliance: Obey all traffic laws, maintain maximum care of the vehicle, and park the vehicle at recommended WVK parking areas; report all vehicle malfunctions and accidents immediately.
- Inventory Control: Check and ensure that all vehicle tools are correctly in place and intact; submit all vehicle spare keys to Fleet Management for safe custody.
- Administrative Support: Facilitate the delivery of parcels/mails, act as a bank agent for transactions, and support staff in community mobilization efforts.
- Professional Ethos: Effectively communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate professional ethics and integrity in all interactions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Five years of experience driving various vehicle classes (B, C1, C, CE, CD, D1, D2, D3, E).
- Certification: An O level certificate with a clean driving license for the required classes. Mandatory Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) competence certification and a PSV License.
- Knowledge: Basic knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance, First Aid, and safety/security measures. Knowledge of transport regulatory acts/laws is preferred.
- Competencies: High professional ethics, integrity, and excellent communication skills.
