Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) invites applications for the position of Director, Finance and Planning, a senior leadership role responsible for driving the hospital’s financial sustainability, strategic planning, and performance monitoring.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director will lead financial strategy, budget management, and planning initiatives that ensure prudent use of resources and long-term institutional growth. The position plays a central role in advising the Board and Executive on fiscal policies and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial and planning policies.
  • Direct budgeting, accounting, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory financial standards.
  • Manage financial audits and implement recommendations.
  • Safeguard hospital assets through sound internal controls.
  • Lead strategic and performance planning initiatives.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and sustainability strategies.
  • Supervise finance and planning teams to achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent discipline.
  • CPA (K), ACCA, CFA, or similar certification required.
  • Member of ICPAK or recognized professional body.
  • At least 15 years’ experience, 5 of which at senior management level.
  • Leadership course of at least 4 weeks from a recognized institution.
  • Full compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.
