Deputy Director, Reserves Management

Job Overview

This role supports the Director, Financial Markets in managing Kenya’s foreign exchange reserves, portfolio risk, compliance, and investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement Forex Reserves Investment Committee decisions
  • Oversee investment of reserves in approved instruments
  • Manage portfolio risk, compliance, and performance attribution
  • Lead strategic asset allocation reviews
  • Ensure adherence to forex investment policies and guidelines
  • Conduct due diligence and KYC for counterparties
  • Mentor and lead professional teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Banking, or related field
  • Master’s degree or professional certification is an advantage
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience (3 at managerial level)
  • Strong background in treasury, investment, or financial markets
  • International financial markets exposure is an added advantage
