Job Overview

The Deputy Director, Legal Services provides legal advisory, governance, and compliance oversight to the Board, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory services to the Board and management.
• Draft, review, and vet legal instruments, contracts, and agreements.
• Conduct legal audits and identify compliance risks.
• Research and interpret laws, regulations, and policies.
• Coordinate litigation matters and liaise with external legal counsel.
• Manage Board governance processes including meetings and documentation.
• Monitor implementation of Board resolutions and prepare compliance reports.
• Manage the legal registry and update legal documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.
• Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and member of the Law Society of Kenya.
• Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience, including 2 years at senior management level.
• Certificate in Management course (minimum 4 weeks).
• Proficiency in computer applications and strong governance expertise.
