Deputy Director, Legal Services
Job Overview
The Deputy Director, Legal Services provides legal advisory, governance, and compliance oversight to the Board, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advisory services to the Board and management.
- Draft, review, and vet legal instruments, contracts, and agreements.
- Conduct legal audits and identify compliance risks.
- Research and interpret laws, regulations, and policies.
- Coordinate litigation matters and liaise with external legal counsel.
- Manage Board governance processes including meetings and documentation.
- Monitor implementation of Board resolutions and prepare compliance reports.
- Manage the legal registry and update legal documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.
- Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and member of the Law Society of Kenya.
- Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience, including 2 years at senior management level.
- Certificate in Management course (minimum 4 weeks).
- Proficiency in computer applications and strong governance expertise.
