Data & Insights Officer at Dignitas — Dignitas (Nairobi)

Dignitas is looking for a Data & Insights Officer to support their mission in Nairobi. This role is central to designing and implementing research and MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) frameworks that align with organizational strategy. You will be responsible for everything from developing data collection tools to conducting complex quantitative and qualitative analyses that inform program improvements and donor reporting.

Role Overview

The Data & Insights Officer manages the lifecycle of program data, ensuring ethical standards and high data quality. You will support enumerator training, lead data cleaning processes, and use advanced analytical software to turn raw data into clear, actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the refinement of research and learning frameworks and the development of indicators and sampling approaches.
  • Lead data collection activities, support enumerator training, and implement rigorous data validation and cleaning protocols.
  • Perform routine and ad hoc analyses of quantitative and qualitative data to assess program impact.
  • Create presentations and reports that clearly communicate research findings to program teams and donors.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related social science discipline.
  • 3-5 years in research and MEL design, specifically within education or social impact contexts.
  • Expertise in mobile-based data collection (ODK, Kobo Collect) and analytical software like SPSS, STATA, R, or Python.
  • Experience using Power BI, Looker Studio, or Tableau to design data dashboards.
