Role Overview
AKU is recruiting a Consultant Urologist to join its Surgery Department at the Mombasa campus. The specialist will diagnose and treat disorders of the urinary tract and reproductive systems, conduct surgical procedures, and mentor junior doctors and residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat urological conditions affecting the kidneys, bladder, and reproductive system.
- Perform surgical and non-surgical urology procedures using advanced equipment.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and monitor treatment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with JCI standards.
- Mentor postgraduate residents and contribute to academic research.
- Promote patient safety and continuous quality improvement in clinical practice.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Internal Medicine or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fellowship or specialist certification in Urology.
- Valid medical practicing license.
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
