The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of Christian churches operating humanitarian and development programs in more than 20 countries. LWF’s Kenya program focuses on refugee support, climate justice, peacebuilding, and community empowerment. The organization partners with governments and NGOs to advance human rights and sustainable development.

Role Overview

LWF is seeking a Consultant – Enhanced Capacity for Advocacy to facilitate workshops and build advocacy capacity on climate justice and international policy engagement. The consultant will design and deliver hybrid training sessions leading up to and following COP30.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate participatory workshops to strengthen advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Conduct post-COP debrief sessions and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Support policy brief creation and government engagement activities.
  • Provide expert input on LWF’s climate justice advocacy framework.
  • Collaborate with youth networks and regional partners on knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in climate justice, advocacy, or international development.
  • Excellent writing, facilitation, and communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of climate negotiations, COP processes, and UNFCCC frameworks.
  • Ability to work with multilingual and multicultural audiences.
  • Fluency in Spanish or French is an advantage.

Interested candidates who meet the above qualifications are invited to submit the following documents:

  1. Technical and Financial Offer in line with the present Terms of Reference (ToR):

    • The technical offer should include a concise presentation of the proposed approach and the methodology to be applied.

    • The financial offer should detail all costs, including the consultant’s honorarium (daily rate inclusive of taxes) and any other related expenses.

  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV) of all consultants involved in the assignment.
