Community Mobilizer – Uasin Gichu County
Role Overview
The Community Mobilizer supports the implementation of climate-smart agriculture and agroforestry interventions by engaging farmer groups, facilitating training, collecting data, and strengthening community participation in Restore Africa projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobilize and train farmer groups on project activities
- Conduct Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) meetings and documentation
- Support signing and digitization of consent forms and LCDAs
- Train farmers on agroforestry practices and monitor compliance
- Organize and document seedling distribution and tree growth monitoring
- Map planted trees using TPAL application
- Collect community feedback and manage complaints through CFM system
- Promote climate-smart farming and runoff harvesting technologies
- Support nursery assessments and re-greening initiatives
- Engage local stakeholders, government, and civil society actors
- Ensure safeguarding compliance and responsible use of project assets
Qualifications
- Diploma in Forestry, Agroforestry, Agriculture, or Community Development
- Minimum 1 year experience in community mobilization
- Ability to engage local communities and authorities
- Fluency in local language and understanding of local geography
- Knowledge of humanitarian NGO Code of Conduct
- Computer proficiency in MS Office
