Role Overview

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships between Victory Farms and surrounding communities. The role focuses on structured stakeholder engagement, grievance handling, community programme coordination, and accurate reporting to support responsible operations and positive community relations.

Key Responsibilities

Community Relations & Stakeholder Engagement

• Establish a consistent on-the-ground presence with local stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain a stakeholder map covering BMUs, community groups, chiefs, county officials, and government departments.
• Create site-level community engagement protocols for meetings, communication, and escalation of concerns.

Engagement Planning & Coordination

• Plan and support barazas, stakeholder briefings, and focus group discussions.
• Prepare agendas, briefing notes, invitations, and ensure proper documentation (minutes, attendance lists, trackers).
• Manage budgets for community engagement activities and ensure cost tracking.

Grievance Management

• Support the design and daily operation of a community grievance mechanism.
• Receive, log, acknowledge, and coordinate responses to grievances.
• Monitor trends and propose mitigation actions for recurring issues.

Programme Support & Reporting

• Coordinate logistics and documentation for community initiatives.
• Produce weekly and monthly reports on activities, risks, grievances, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align community-facing actions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Communications, or related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience in community engagement or liaison roles.
• Fluency in Dholuo and Kiswahili; functional English required.
• Experience working with BMUs or fisheries communities is an advantage.
