Communication Intern

Job Description

The Communication Intern supports the development and dissemination of high-quality content that aligns with UNOPS mandates of sustainability and inclusivity. This role involves drafting various communication materials, managing digital platforms, and assisting with internal information sharing. The intern plays a key part in documenting project milestones and supporting the logistical planning of both virtual and in-person events, helping to build strong relationships with partners and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and edit communication materials including fact sheets, press releases, talking points, and articles
• Support the documentation of project milestones through summaries, photo captions, and human-interest stories
• Manage updates and postings on the intranet and social media platforms following corporate guidance
• Schedule digital content and create visuals or short multimedia materials
• Assist in internal communications by drafting announcements and summaries for staff and partners
• Provide logistical support for the planning of workshops, meetings, and events
• Maintain organized records of communication assets and documentation in shared drives
• Liaise with vendors and service providers for event-related needs

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of a First-level university degree (Bachelor’s), or current enrollment in/recent graduation from a postgraduate program
• Academic background preferably in Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations
• Strong skills in content development, editing, and digital media management
• Ability to act as a positive team player with high standards of ethical conduct
• Basic knowledge of event management and logistics coordination
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
