Sidian Bank is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead operations and drive business development across the Rift Valley Region (application via Nairobi). This senior banking management job in Kenya requires a University degree or above in a relevant business discipline, a minimum of 8 years’ working experience in a Banking environment, including 4 years at a management role, and sound exposure to Branch Operations and Credit Management. The Manager will be responsible for preparing the branch business plan, overseeing all sales/business development for the entire regional portfolio, ensuring full compliance with CBK/AML/CFT guidelines, and providing comprehensive staff leadership and mentorship.

Role Overview
The Branch Manager – Rift Valley Region will coordinate with the Head of Branches to implement bank policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include understanding local consumer trends and competitor offerings, formulating business strategic initiatives for the branch market, driving the growth of the Branch’s business portfolio (Assets and Liabilities), embedding a customer service culture, and managing all operational, security, and compliance aspects within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Prepare and implement a branch business plan and budget, ensuring alignment with the Sidian Bank Retail Operational plan and regional growth objectives.
- Business Growth & Development: Full responsibility for all product lines and sales; drive growth of the Business portfolio (Assets and Liabilities), client recruitment, and cross-selling, ensuring income, quality, and portfolio growth targets are achieved.
- Financial Performance: Ensure Growth in NII (Net Interest Income), optimize OPEX, and manage cost of cash holding.
- Relationship Management & Experience: Build a base of promoters by enhancing positive customer experience (CSAT, NPS); manage key branch relationships and ensure no escalations at the branch level.
- Risk & Compliance: Maintain a culture of internal control; ensure full compliance with AML/CFT/CPF guidelines, CBK regulatory framework, and track/correct deficiencies from audits.
- Leadership & Management: Provide ultimate responsibility for the Human Resource Management of branch staff; set performance objectives, mentor, coach, and ensure staff adhere to professional standards and the HR policy.
- Branch Operations: Ensure adherence to operating procedures (opening/closing times), security procedures, and adequate cash levels.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Minimum 8 years’ working experience in a Banking environment, with sound exposure to Branch Operations, Credit Management, and Business development; 4 years should be at a management role.
- Education: University degree or above in a relevant business discipline (Business Administration or Finance); Master degree will be an added advantage.
- Skills & Competencies: Sound knowledge of Retail/SME products; profound understanding of the retail market and competitors; thorough understanding of CBK regulatory framework; strong leadership, marketing, sales, and analytical skills.
- Professional Certification: Diploma in Banking – AKIB (added advantage).
