Assistant Student Counsellor III

Role Overview

This role is designed for a compassionate counselling professional committed to student wellbeing. As Assistant Student Counsellor III, you will support students through guidance, counselling, and structured follow-up, contributing to a healthy, supportive, and inclusive university environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct student intake interviews and individual counselling sessions
  • Maintain consistent follow-up to support sustainable student progress
  • Prepare and support counselling seminars, workshops, and awareness programs
  • Participate in student orientation to promote counselling services
  • Maintain accurate, confidential counselling records
  • Support recruitment and training of peer counsellors

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, Psychiatry, or equivalent
  • Relevant professional certification and valid practicing license
  • Registration with the appropriate professional body

Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure their certificates are certified by the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Successful candidates will be required to provide valid clearance certificates from:

  • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

  • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)

  • Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Certificate of Good Conduct)

  • A Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
