Role Overview
This isn’t just about fixing typos; it’s about making sure our voice remains consistent and our content stays engaging. You will oversee the journey of a manuscript from a rough draft to a final printed or digital product, ensuring everything aligns with our brand’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread school newsletters, journals, and curriculum materials for clarity.
- Manage the publication schedule by coordinating with designers and printers.
- Guide and mentor junior editors and student contributors to improve their craft.
- Keep a pulse on educational trends to ensure our content remains relevant.
- Enforce style guides and referencing standards across all written media.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field.
- Solid experience editing in a school or academic publishing environment.
- Familiarity with digital tools like CMS, social media platforms, and layout software.
- A genuine passion for literature and an understanding of copyright laws.
- Mastery of style guides such as APA, MLA, or Chicago.
