The Geothermal Development Company (GDC) is seeking a strategic Manager – Administration & Property Management in Nairobi. This senior corporate services job in Kenya requires a Master’s degree in Public/Business Administration or a related field, and a minimum of 12 years of experience, including 4 years in a managerial role. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate records, front office operations, utility services, managing outsourced services (e.g., courier, cleaning), and ensuring the effective acquisition and management of the company’s office space, property, and assets.

Role Overview
The Manager – Administration & Property Management provides critical technical leadership to administration teams, focusing on improving performance standards, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and ensuring compliance. Key duties include managing lease negotiations, maintaining accurate asset inventories, forecasting administrative needs, and efficiently processing administrative expenses for essential utility services and outsourced contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Records Management: Provide technical leadership to implement and evaluate strategic management plans for effective corporate records management, registry, and data integrity.
- Outsourced Services Management: Manage and oversee the execution of outsourced service contracts, including courier services, cleaning, and other essential facilities management services.
- Property & Asset Safeguarding: Safeguard all company assets (office premises, equipment, furniture) by maintaining accurate, up-to-date inventory records, and managing identification for requisition, repair, and disposal.
- Office & Utilities Administration: Oversee coordination of front office and secretarial services, manage the company’s needs for office equipment, and manage the processing and payment of administrative expenses/utilities.
- Lease and Space Management: Facilitate the acquisition and effective management of office space and parking, overseeing the drawing and reviewing of lease contracts, including negotiations with relevant stakeholders.
- Performance Management: Coordinate and implement identified performance contracting targets, ensuring the timely submission of all necessary periodic progress reports.
- Resource Allocation: Manage the acquisition and allocation of office furniture, fixtures, and equipment across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: A minimum of 12 years’ work experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial role.
- Education: A Master’s Degree in Public/Business Administration, Sociology, or an equivalent relevant qualification. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Land Economics, Social Science, Surveying) is also required.
- Training: Completion of a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative).
- Professional: Membership of a relevant professional body/institution.
- Competencies: Strong leadership, analytical skills, excellent communication, and proficiency in computer applications.
