Academic ICT Technician

Overview

Premier Academy is seeking an Academic ICT Technician to support the Director of Studies Office. This role is specialized in the intersection of technology and education, focusing on designing digital tools for curriculum planning, assessment monitoring, and academic operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that both the hardware infrastructure and the digital learning platforms (LMS) are optimized to enhance teaching and learning across the institution.

Responsibilities

• Digital Tool Design: Create custom digital resources, templates, dashboards, and automation scripts to improve administrative and academic workflows.
• Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computers, networking equipment, and audiovisual devices in labs and classrooms.
• Technical Support: Provide timely troubleshooting and ICT support for staff, students, and administration.
• LMS Integration: Support the seamless integration of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational applications.
• Asset Management: Maintain accurate inventories of ICT assets and coordinate all repairs, upgrades, and replacements.
• Data Security: Enforce ICT policies, data security protocols, and responsible device usage institution-wide.
• Training: Train staff and students on the effective use of educational technologies and software tools.
• Innovation: Assist in rolling out new ICT initiatives aimed at enhancing digital literacy.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma in ICT, IT, or Computer Science (Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s is an advantage).
• Experience: Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration tools.
• Academic Support: Basic proficiency in Mathematics, English, and Science to effectively support academic tasks.
• Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced academic environment.
